First noni factory-Santo

SANTO will be the first island in Vanuatu to have a factory processing noni fruits.

During this week, the PM, Charlot Salwai had the chance to visit ‘Waike group’ company who are now building this new noni factory and heard about this new project at Velit Bay in East Santo.

Hillare Bule, Prime Minister(PM) PRO, said the delegation that travelled to Santo heard that the noni plant can generate sales of around VT 6million.

“Then after a year again, another harvest starts,” he said.

“There can be four harvests in a year.”

He said this investment that they are making will be in line with the productive policy for today’s government.

PM Salwai thanked to the company who will make noni fruit into a source of income to the people of Vanuatu like kava, copra, cacao and other products.

PM Salwai made this visit with the Minister of Agriculture and also Santo MP, Matai Seremiah.
