IN a cracker boxing program, Fiji-based Ghanaian light heavyweight fighter Joseph Kwadjo takes on classy Vanuatu champion Jacobus Kali on May 5 at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

The fight is the main bout of Best Boxing Promotions who have put together a Fiji versus Vanuatu clash.

This was confirmed by promoter Hasmat Ali while he was at the Kiran Boxing Promotions at Tilak High School hall in Lautoka at the weekend.

“Kwadjo is fighting Kali who is a champion boxer and has been waiting for him for some time,” Ali said.

“I managed to get them for this showdown. Overall we have other top boxers like Krishna Mudaliar and Franco Frazier who are to fight in the undercards.”

Kali has beaten top Fijian boxers like Sakiasi ‘The Bomb’ Dakua and Temo Kolitapa.

“I’m getting five boxers from Vanuatu who are going to fight local opponents like the Mudaliar brothers – Krishneel, Sachin and Krishna. Then we’ve Ulaiasi Qalomai taking on unbeaten Siliveni Nawai.”

Boxing Commission of Fiji chairman Bulutani Mataitawakilai said the program has been sanctioned and they are looking forward to a great event.

Meanwhile Krishna, who drew with Frasier, said he is looking forward to a rematch after taking on his Vanuatu opponent on May 5.

Also returning to the ring is former middleweight champion Abhay Chand.
