THE practice of yoga is best done – according to Swami Satyananda Saraswati, the founder of the Bihar School of Yoga – in a well ventilated area where it is calm and quiet.
If outdoors, the surroundings should be pleasant, such as a beautiful garden, and the air should be clean and fresh so that you can freely breath oxygen.
There could be no more beautiful, calm, quiet and fresh place than the glorious surrounds of Havannah Harbour in North Efate, making it the perfect place to embrace the benefits that yoga has to offer.
A three-day yoga retreat incorporating all that is essential in this ancient Indian practice will be held at Reflections at Havannah Harbour in June.
Reflections Retreat specializes in providing a healthy and safe place for guests to enjoy ‘time out’ from the stressors of modern life.
To that end, yoga fits seamlessly into their mantra of providing an environment of helping their guests to step back from life’s challenges and develop a life outlook and perspective of enjoying and appreciating each day.
Their three-day Yoga Retreat, to be held on June 22-24, will give people the opportunity to enjoy a weekend of yoga and relaxation, together with a range of great, healthy food.
You don’t have to be a yoga fanatic to take part in this retreat – just be open to many healthy benefits to the body, mind and soul offered by the practice – and willing to have a little fun along the way.
The weekend’s program begins Friday evening, with a delicious dinner followed later by a session of yoga nidra. Yoga nidra (or yogic sleep) is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions – the perfect way to set you up for a revitalizing weekend.
Saturday will begin with ‘wake up yoga’ before a hearty breakfast, and the rest of the program will include dynamic yoga, a meditation workshop, restorative yoga, and island mindfulness walk and vinyasa yoga on the beach.
All activities are optional, but there’s plenty of time to chill out in between and take advantage of every session – and a relaxing massage is also included in the package.
As well, all meals and snacks included – amazing meals that are gluten and dairy free. They include Buddha Bowls, Thai Green Curry (vegetarian or chicken version), Eggs Benedict ‘Reflections style’ and the retreat’s own homemade protein bread.
The price for this fabulous weekend retreat is VT36,000 for a single room or VT24,000 per person twin share. This includes 2 nights’ accommodation, all meals and snacks, all activities and massage.
