Touring with Iririki – days to remember

These tours operate twice a day and they leave from the jetty near the Mamas market at 8.30am and 1pm.

After a 30-minute drive through you will arrive at your first stop for both tours, Mele Cascades – Vanuatu’s biggest waterfall and Efate’s top tourist attraction.

Meles CascadesMele Cascades is not just a waterfall, it is a stunning jungle parkland. Lush with native plants, flowers and wildlife, your ten-minute stroll to the waterfall is a sensory delight. You can swim in under the waterfall or bathe in the many pools the falls has to offer.

For those on the Nature Tour, your second stop will be to Vanuatu’s famous Tanna Coffee headquarters.

Tanna Coffee supplies coffee to all of the Pacific but sadly, it lost 75 per cent of all its plants in Cyclone Pam. However, with some support, it was quickly back in business.

tanna-coffeeAt the Headquarters, you will learn all about the origins of coffee, how the plants are harvested and the beans roasted for that perfect cuppa. And while you are there, you can indulge in your favourite caffeinated beverage.

Your third stop for the day will be visiting a traditional Vanuatu village where you will experience and learn how the people of Vanuatu live.

Iririki_tours_2You will be greeted with traditional dancing from all generations of the village, shown how they cultivate their produce, cook their food, sleep and spend their days.

Eton Beach is a dazzling white-sand, family friendly beach with rock pools, safe swimming and a small river inlet. The white sand against the aqua blue ocean water will be an image you will never forget.

Your third stop for the day with be the famous Blue Lagoon, a magical place for a swim and to relax and recharge the batteries.

There are rope swings on both sides of the Lagoon. However, feel free to just float around and be mesmerised by the beautiful blues of the lagoon.
