CONTRACTORS RMS will be conducting works in the Manples area tomorrow (Saturday).
Similar to the works that have taken place at the USP Roundabout and Dark Corner, tomorrow ’s works are in preparation for the asphalt phase of the project, which RMS says is ‘the icing on the cake’.
Project Support Manager Daniel Seehusen said due to the nature of the works, and for the safety of road users, RMS will be implementing road closures and diversions from 7am to 5pm.
“Depending on direction, vehicles will be detoured via the Namburu Road at Essah or the Manples Market at the Pakaroa Road,” he said (see the attached detour plan).
“Heavy vehicles will be managed accordingly by traffic controllers and we will be granting access to businesses in the area. We even encourage shoppers to buy fresh fruit and vegetables from the Mamas at Manples market, who have been extremely patient while works continue.
“Pedestrians will be able to pass through via the newly laid footpaths.
“RMS apologises for any inconvenience this may cause to road users. As usual, we ask for everyone’s understanding, patience and cooperation at this time.”
