ROAD contractor RMS has advised drivers that there will be disruptions to roads in Port Vila today and tonight.
Works began Wednesday morning from the Captain Cook-Edmond Colordeau intersection and Tropical Roundabout, with diversions put in place and road users being directed by signage.
Residents, business owners and customers are being granted access accordingly.
These works are due to cease by 5pm this afternoon.
A full road closure will be implemented from the Lycee Lab Intersection (Walter Lini Highway) to the Esah Corporation (Manples) this evening to allow for pavement profiling and pavement sweeping.
The work willcommence at 8pm Wednesday night and diversions will be put in place and road users will be directed by signage.
Residents, business owners, and customers will be granted access accordingly.
These works will cease by 5am Thursday morning.
Road Works will also be taking place at USP Roundabout from 8pm to 5am on both Wednesday and Thursday nights, weather permitting.
RMS said the overnight works are a necessary step in preparing the sub-grade for asphalt.
Traffic control and partial road closures will be implemented to coordinate safe traffic flow through USP Roundabout.
“We encourage all motorists to proceed through the area with caution and observe direction from traffic controllers,” said a spokesman.
“There will be significant delays in the vicinity of the USP Roundabout. Please consider alternative routes if possible.”
RMS apoligised for any inconvenience and thanked everyone for their understanding and cooperation.
