THE motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Charlot Salwai will go to the vote in Parliament at 4pm next Thursday, December 4.
This followed a Supreme Court decision yesterday which ruled in favour of the Opposition who argued that the motion be put during the current extra-ordinary session of Parliament.
The motion tabled with the Speaker by the Opposition was signed by 31 MPs but attempts were made to withdraw some of the signatures, with the Prime Minister alleging that the signatures were forgeries.
But the Opposition then released attestations signed by MPs made at the same time as they signed the motion.
The court decided that the matter be put to a vote in Parliament and this was the proper forum for the decision on who leads the nation.
