THE Ovation of the Seas, one of the world’s largest cruise ships, will make its maiden voyage to Port Vila in March this year.
A Tourism Office spokesman said the Ovation of the Seas has a capacity of 4905 passengers.
He said the arrival of the massive cruise liner on March 25 will be the highlight for cruising tourism this year in Vanuatu.
The 348m Ovation of the Seas is too big to dock at the wharf and will anchor in deep water in Port Vila harbour.
Passengers will be taken to a small purpose built wharf near the Ex-Rossi Restaurant in the heart of Port Vila.
Ovation of the Seas is a Quantum-class cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean International and the third ship of her class.
The Quantum class is the third largest by gross tonnage class of cruise ships behind MSC Cruises’s Meraviglia class and Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis class.
